working with us
RJI works in the service of elevating BIPOC community knowledge, wisdom, and experience as actionable data. We do this by focusing on two strategies: (1) working with BIPOC communities and the organizations that serve them to conduct research and co-produce knowledge about the everyday lived experiences of communities of color in Oregon; and (2) working with government agencies and other institutions to provide guidance on data equity strategies and elevate community data in decision- and policy-making.
We welcome the opportunity to work in both capacities, and we value transparency in how we engage with BIPOC communities and dominant culture institutions. We have created an hourly rate page to explain the value of what we bring to the table in terms of knowledge, experience, and skills. If you would like to discuss partnering with us, please contact Dr. Andres Lopez, Research Director, at andres@coalitioncommunitiescolor.org.
If you would like to support our work and the CCC’s mission of advancing racial justice, please visit our donations page.

FOR BLACK AND INDIGENOUS, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR (BIPOC) COMMUNITIES
Equitable community involvement in the research process including prioritizing common goals, question development, planning, data collection and analysis, community interpretation of data and dissemination. Also, building long-term and sustainable capacity among communities of color to develop their expertise, define priorities and propose meaningful solutions which go beyond a single study.
The RJI’s work includes:
Co-constructing and facilitating a research justice study about the everyday lived experiences of communities of color in Clackamas County.
Research and data justice training for community-led efforts.
Culturally specific community-led research and engagement for systems changes at the city and county level.
Cross-cultural statewide research on culturally- and linguistically-responsive healthcare strategies and recommendations for Coordinated Care Organizations.
